This work aims to introduce that in addition to Orthodoxy, Buddhism has accompanied and closely associated with Russian culture and national identity. Foundations of ancient temple relics have been restored and built into solemn Buddhist centers, where international Buddhist conferences are held every year and where hundreds of monks from Russia and abroad are studying, not only in the three Buddhist Republics of Buryatia, Tuva, Kalmykia, but also in St. Petersburg and Moscow.In the regions outside Baikal, Irkutska and elsewhere, Buddhism is flourishing, existing and developing to meet the religious, spiritual, and moral needs of the people of the Russian Federation. As President Vladimir Putin has stated: "Buddhism, its culture and traditions, have had a profound influence on the development of Russia... played a truly unique role in the formation of a unified, cohesive nation, and have become a lofty spiritual and moral compass for hundreds of thousands of people."Russia, a Eurasian nation with a rich traditional culture and multifaceted religious heritage, is widely admired and respected throughout the world.
